ABOUT ME

I am a proud fourth-generation Tehama County native who has deep roots in the community where me and my wife, Jenn, are raising our three amazing children. My commitment to service began after high school when I enlisted in the Navy. I am proud to have earned my submarine qualification aboard the U.S.S. Boise and to be a graduate of the Defense Language Institute with honors. With these experiences I developed a strong sense of duty, culture, and discipline while serving our country and cultivating my desire to pay them forward.

​After my military experience, I pursued higher education, earning college degrees at Indiana University and Georgetown University that would later become a cornerstone for my diverse contributions to communities. I had the opportunity to return to my roots and farm alongside my father while being blessed to participate in education simultaneously. As a lecturer of economics for 17 years, I believe that much of what ails our country is not a lack of opportunity for our citizens, but an inability of many to take advantage of opportunities that present themselves.

I am dedicated to the traditions of family farming that have shaped the region for generations. I firmly believe it is important for local agriculture to be actively involved in the community.  It generates awareness of where our food comes from, encourages a love for agricultural landscapes, promotes community, and increases support for sustainable agricultural practices.

Through strategic initiatives in education, steadfast support of agriculture, and an unwavering commitment to community well-being, I am resolute in my tirelessly efforts to establish a robust foundation for a vibrant and sustainable future. My overreaching goal is to ensure Tehama County remains an exemplar place where we can live, work, and raise our families with pride and confidence.
